Cup and Trophy Races

Arthur Ryan Trophy
Awarded to the helmsman recording the highest number of starts in all club races, excluding the previous year's holder.

The Banko Trophy
The format of this race will be at the discretion of the Race Officer.

Bourne End to Marlow Race
This race has a time limit 4 hours.

Cathy Norman-Symonds Trophy and Yeatman Trophy
The Cathy Norman-Symonds Trophy is awarded to the winner of a series of eight scratch races selected by the Wayfarer Class and included in the Club Programme. At least one result must be taken from each series (five to count).

The Yeatman Trophy is awarded to the winner of a series of eight scratch races selected by the OK Class, and defined in the Club Programme, including races from each series. At least one result must be taken from each series (five to count).

On any day designated for these trophies and where there is more than one race scheduled, the first race sailed shall count for these trophies. If racing is cancelled for any reason on a day designated for the above trophies, the next available series race day will be designated for these trophies.

Connaught Cup
Awarded to the winner of a race held over a course of not less than nine miles at Bourne End (time limit 4 hours). Each class or group of classes may have its own start.

The Caela Burrell Vases
Awarded to the winner of a race on similar terms to the Connaught Cup, but without restriction as to distance sailed.

End of Season Dhow Trophy
Awarded to the overall winner of a race in which each class may have its own start and so arranged that each class will finish approximately at the same time (possibly, but not necessarily, a pursuit race).

End of Season Cup
The same conditions apply as for the End of Season Dhow Trophy, except that the race is sailed on a PHC basis.

Royal Thames Plate
Awarded to the helm of any class who attains the highest placing in his/her fleet over a twelve month period. The best of ten races shall count in the first instance, tie-breaks being resolved by the results of groups of five further races ad infinitum until a clear winner emerges. Multi-class races are not used to determine the winner of this trophy.

The Strudwick Pot
Awarded to the winner of the OK Series, a minimum of ten races to be sailed in the afternoons from Spring to Autumn on a scratch basis. Fifty per cent of the races are to count.

Silver Burgee
Three qualifying races nominated by the Sailing Committee shall be run separately as Class races. The winner of each nominated race shall qualify for the final, but if a boat has already qualified in an earlier race, the next boat finishing shall qualify. A system of reserve qualifiers will be applied to ensure three boats from each Class go to the start line. The Silver Burgee is awarded to the winner of the final race.
This trophy is currently sailed for during the Club Championship weekend.

Gold Cup
The same conditions apply as for the Silver Burgee, except that all races are sailed on a PHC basis.
This trophy is currently sailed for during the Club Championship weekend.

The Hugh Davis Trophy
Awarded to the winner of a handicap race to be sailed on the same day as the Silver Burgee Final, for the boats that have not qualified for the Silver Burgee Final.
This trophy is currently sailed for during the Club Championship weekend.
