Additional Club Facilities Available

Published 10:53 on 25 May 2020

We are ready for the next phase of opening up the club. I would like to thank Richard Pausey and Debbie Kite for their hard work in producing the risk assessments, signage and making the necessary adjustments to keep you all safe whilst you enjoy the sailing club again.

The Toilets

These will be open from Monday 25th May. Please use common sense and follow the guidance below. There is a new code for the combination lock.

  1. Only use the toilets if absolutely necessary
  2. Only ONE person or household in a changing room at a time
  3. When you enter the changing room, use the doorstop to prop the door open to indicate that the facility is in use
  4. The changing room is OCCUPIED if the outside door is propped OPEN
  5. If the door is closed and there is no queue open the coded lock and call to check that there is no one inside
  6. If the door is propped open please queue 2 metres apart by the Sail Locker door - DO NOT wait in the walkway
  7. After use wash your hands thoroughly and use the paper towels provided
  8. Leave the changing room and close the door by kicking the doorstop back into the changing room
  9. Please ensure the coded lock engages
  10. Maintain 2 metres distance from anyone queuing as you leave
  11. Use the outside sink if you need to wash your hands again

Please DO NOT use the showers, change or leave belongings in the changing rooms.

Just to reassure members when using the toilets there is a comprehensive cleaning regime in place with Kathryn.

The Century Boathouse, The Fury & the Varnish Shed

These will be available to enter and use from Monday 25th May. Please use common sense and follow the advice below. The code for the combination locks remains unchanged.

Hand sanitisers, disinfectant spray and paper roll is available for use by members to clean down touch points such as the locks.

It is still advised to conduct boat maintenance outside rather than inside the boathouses

Please follow the advice on the posters displayed

Maintain social distancing by checking that the boathouses are vacant before entering

Apply the one in one out rule unless you are from the same household

Track and Trace Reminder

To help monitor attendance and in order to advise you on a potential close contact with someone who then contracts Coronavirus (COVID-19) Upper Thames Sailing Club [UTSC] has created a specific email address for Track & Trace purposes. The email address is attendance@utsc.org.uk and you are asked to use this for logging attendance at UTSC for the tracking purposes.

When you go to UTSC you are required to email this account with the date (DD/MM/YY) in the subject line and the time you attended in the body of the email.

If you develop symptoms of the Coronavirus within 14 days of attending the club, you are asked to email the same address but adding 'Symptoms Suspected' in the subject line.

An autoresponder message has been incorporated into a response which will be sent to you.

GDPR

The emails will be deleted after 30 days

The Vice Commodore Richard Pausey is the single point of contact for the management of this system in Phase 1 & 2.

Finally, members of the Sailing Committee are working hard on completing risk assessments for the use of club boats and safety boats and it is hoped that these aspects will be able to be introduced soon.

Stay safe and enjoy the river.

Kind regards

Nick Smith-James

Commodore
