A Look at Rule 42; Happy Hour, talk and Chilli evening
– Now on Friday 9th March.

If you already know how to Pump, Rock, Ooch or Scull then you need to come to the Look at Rule 42 evening hosted by John Meadowcroft.

If you don't know what Pumping, Rocking, Ooching and Sculling are then you definitely need to come along, as you ...CLICK ON PIC FOR MORE
may already be breaking the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing relating to "Propulsion".

As a refresher for all:

42.1 Basic Rule
Except when permitted in rule 42.3 or 45, a boat shall compete by using only the wind and water to increase, maintain or decrease her speed. Her crew may adjust the trim of sails and hull, and perform other acts of seamanship, but shall not otherwise move their bodies to propel the boat.

Using videos and examples John will work through what is and may not be permitted and make it relevant to us at UTSC, where the wind is frequently infuriating.

The bar will be open from 6.30pm (Happy Hour too) and Chilli is on the menu!
