Relay Race Sunday 7th October

Relay Race

On Sunday 7th October we plan to hold our second innovation to this year's sailing program, a relay race on the water.
This will be a typical relay race with a hand over of a baton at the end of each leg. There will be four legs, each leg being sailed by a different class of boat.
Full details of the event are in the Sailing Instructions below.
Each team will consist of four boats, an OK, a Merlin, a Topper and a Wayfarer. A helm and crew can only sail in one leg, so getting the best helm in your team transfer from boat to boat is not an option!
A team needs to be four helms and two crew. In addition you can have up to two shore based team members to provide on shore support.

Action this Day

If you want to participate, now is the time to start organising a team or finding one to join. We anticipate a maximum of six teams. So if you want the best helm in each class start looking now!
Don't forget that you have access to the club boats that currently can be booked via the Sailing Secretary on a first come first served basis. Bookings for this event will only be allowed by email. We think this will be a fun event for participants and on-lookers. So please help us to make it work.

Richard Pausey, RCS; Bruce James, Sailing Secretary; Chris Chacksfield, Major Event Team Leader relay race.
