Congratulations to Oliver Meadowcroft who has been awarded a Performance Award bursary for promising young sailors from the regional RYA youth training fund. Ollie started sailing an Optimist dinghy in 2014, and has progressed through regional zone squads and national championships to selection for the national team. February social events start with a Family Games night on Saturday 3rd at 1730. An opportunity to get all the Cadets together again, with the bar open and pasta supper to order. Then there's a Happy Hour and a film night that's not for the kids this time, on Friday 23rd, showing "Victoria and Abdul". It's accompanied by one of Emma's famous chicken curries adding to the Indian theme of the evening. Book now!

Many congratulations to long-standing club member Jean Keating who was presented with the RYA Lifetime Commitment Award by HRH Princess Anne, for her services to boating. Jean's husband Jim is also a recipient of the award. Having been House Secretary, supported Jim as Commodore, been Rear Commodore House, and most recently Bar Secretary, Jean's dedication has been invaluable to the club's growth in recent years.

Report from OOD Richard: Yesterday (29th October) saw the End of Season Dhow races run in fair conditions, with a Northerly breeze of about 6-8 knots and wall-to-wall sunshine for the afternoon.
