Message from the Commodore

I thought I would take a moment to wish you all a Happy New Year and to give you a short update of what is happening at the club during this quiet period. Work continues via the three Committees to prepare for the 2020 season of sailing and social events. Both the sailing and social calenders have been agreed and the Blue Book has been updated and is almost ready to go to print.
Some of you may have realised that there hasn't been a recent e-Info circulated and that is because we are carrying the vacancy for the Publicity Officer role. The House Committee still needs a House Secretary and Rear Commodore House, so if anyone is interested in any of these roles please contact me.
The stain glass windows in the clubhouse have been removed and we have temporary clear glass in place until the stain glass panes have been repaired and reinserted. Social events and Sunday lunches continue through the winter months and information about these will be circulated directly to you via SCM.
The river has remained high and is being monitored closely, the flood defences were deployed recently as a precaution but luckily were not tested.
I would like to thank all the members who currently sit on the Sailing Committee, House Committee and General Committee for their commitment to getting the club ready for the season ahead. There is always a huge amount of work required even at this early stage in the year to ensure the club is prepared.
If you have renewed your membership for 2020 - Thank you. If you haven't yet we would hope you will be able to do so over the next 2 weeks please.
