Bourne End Week 2021
Saturday 25th August 2021 - Tuesday 31st August
UTSC's annual regatta - river racing at its best. This year features the Merlin Rocket River Championships and Thames A Rater Nationals but also the return of the International OK River Championships.
These events cover three days from Saturday to Monday, and are also part of the traditional Bourne End Week Regatta, which runs until Tuesday for the smaller dinghy classes. There will also be the well-supported Handicap fleet.
The Thames A Rater Nationals run for four days and will culminate in the Queen's Cup on Tuesday.
UTSC is an excellent location on a wide and long reach of the upper Thames, with easy launching from the clubhouse lawn. The club looks forward to welcoming visitors to this classic river regatta. There are beautiful trophies to be won by testing your river sailing skills, roll tacking and tactics against fellow competitors and the stream on the river and shifting breezes.
The start is directly in front of the clubhouse, so the lawn is the perfect vantage point for spectators, with the Thames Path running through the grounds and alongside the river upstream to follow the races. The frontage was rebuilt a few years ago now and circuit sailors will appreciate the three slipways, pontoons and the paved 'beach' area.
Bourne End Week has a tradition of great hospitality and the location with the historic clubhouse, the marquee on the lawn, and midsummer sunsets provide the ideal setting.
The House team have planned an exciting social calendar.
The camping field is being turfed in the coming days. While we expect camping to be possible the surface will not be what you are used to and no cars/campervans or caravans will be allowed on the camping site except for the railway crossing safety person.
The club is just a few minutes' walk into the village with a wide variety of shops for everything you might need.
An overview of the event can be seen in the flyer below and the detail in the submenu on the right..
The Covid situation is constantly changing so please follow updates here on the website and in other communications.
