Open Day & Tea by the Thames

Join us for our Annual Open Day on Saturday, May 11th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Experience dinghy sailing at a historic Sailing club that is celebrating its 140th anniversary. It's the perfect stretch of water for both seasoned sailors and those new to the sport.

We invite you to come own to Upper Thames Sailing club to learn about; our vibrant community, our fabulous social calendar and explore how you can get involved in our competitive Racing scene.

Learn what makes our club unique and how you can become part of our community. Special membership incentives are available for those who sign up on Open Day.

Enjoy a 'Tea by the Thames' in support of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust whilst watching the dinghies go by. This was originally scheduled for April 20th however, this event has been rescheduled due to uncertainties about the condition of the river Thames.

Whether you're interested in sailing or prefer powerboats, our Open Day is an excellent opportunity to take to the water. As a Royal Yachting Association (RYA) recognized Training Centre, we offer comprehensive training for beginners and advanced sailors alike. Post-Open Day, we host our racing events, which are held on weekends and Wednesday evenings as well as Saturday training sessions and extended courses during the holiday.

So why not come down, have a go in one of our dinghies out on the water with an experienced skipper or join our safety boat team out on the water experiencing what is required to support our racing events.

We welcome everyone non-sailors and sailors of all skill levels. Don't miss this chance to become part of a friendly club renowned for its family atmosphere and strong emphasis on both youth development and community involvement in sailing.

Please note, on-water activities will depend on suitable weather and river conditions.
