To All Members of the Upper Thames Sailing Club
NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2025 SUNDAY 2ND NOVEMBER 2025
Notice is hereby given of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Upper Thames Sailing Club ("the Club") to be held on Sunday, 2nd November 2025 at 4.00 pm in the Clubhouse. The Commodore and Officers of the Club cordially invite you to attend the meeting. Your attendance is encouraged as it is your opportunity to hear about the work of the Officers and Committees of the Club, to ask questions and to provide comments.
An agenda for the meeting will be issued no later than 21 days before the AGM (i.e by Sunday, 12 October 2025) and will be posted on the Club's website where the minutes of the 2024 AGM can also be found.
The agenda for the meeting also includes the election of Officers and Members of the General Committee. Your present General Committee will submit a list of the proposed and seconded members who are willing to serve on the General Committee for 2025/26. These nominations will be included on the agenda for the meeting and will require your approval by vote. Any nominations for General Committee are to be received by the General Secretary in writing at least 35 days before the AGM (i.e. by Sunday, 28th September 2025).
Only where a post has no nomination, or in the event that any of the nominees withdraws their names leaving no nomination for a particular office, can a nomination be accepted from the floor of the meeting.
Any member wishing to make a proposition to the AGM must put that proposition in writing to the General Secretary at least 35 days before the AGM (i.e. by Sunday, 28th September 2025). No propositions can be put to the AGM that have not previously been advised to the General Secretary by the due date.
The annual Prize Giving will be held at 2.30pm, followed by a short tea interval, after which the AGM is due to start at 4pm
