UTSC goes green with new energy supplier

Published 01:00 on 24 Oct 2019

We recently used an energy broker to find the best tariff for our electricity, which, as most members know, is the main source of heating for the club. The Club is now with the UK's greenest energy provider Ecotricity, and we have managed to cut our overall electricity spend, saving the Club £3.5k over the next 3 years and future proofing us against any price rises. It wasn't the cheapest and we could have saved even more money but we really thought it was important that the Club does its bit to help save the planet.
Special thanks go to a new members, Gary Willis, Owner & Director of the broker, Club Power. Gary joined the Club this year after our open weekend with his sons Joe and Max and they have thrown themselves into sailing most weekends and are enjoying every experience the Club has to offer.
There is an added way members can help with much needed extra income for the Club. For any business referrals to Club Power which lead to an energy contract, Gary and Club Power will pay the Club commission. This is a free service for us to be affiliated with Club Power and we are hopeful this could not only save our members who have their own businesses money, like we have, but their own friends and business associates as well. Referrals will be made by accessing the Club Power site through a link on the members' area on our website, or you can click here.
I would like to thank Gary for helping the Club. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or Gary through the Club Power website.
Sarah, Commodore
